I always turn it off at the front, and my PS3 has always been fine (touch wood). I have found the button on the front dosnt work if it freezes during loading. The thing to do on this case is eject the disc and it will go back to the main menu.

Are you touching "Wood" or knocking on Wood. There's a difference there and it could be taken the wrong way lmao. Just joking but made me laugh anyway

got this message I never got before:

I got dropped after the game was over in the kd screen. But it wasn't a normal drop, the screen went black and my controller turned off. First the hdmi message came up then the one above, when I turned the controller back on.

hmm that is very interesting, I have never seen that msg before but if it has only happened once and now that everything is fine I dont know if I would keep on using it unless you have the warranty, I would try and sell it and get a new one

Yea, do not turn off the PS3 from the rear switch. That's why I had to send mine in, and since then, I havn't had a single problem.

When you turn off the switch in the rear (when stanby liught is green), I think ithe blu-ray reader is damaged everytime you turn it off in the rear.

Yea it still works, it worked right away, I played a few more with killa after that. I didn't have to follow those instructions either, whatever happened with that cleared itself up. It just seemed to be spazzing out, it gave two different messages with instructions, but I didn't have to follow either they just came and went.

And no, FLAIVIE, I never do that, and never have.
