This is more of an ethical question. Some 10 months ago or so a guy named Li something (Chinese Canadian) stabbed some random guy to death on a Greyhound bus. Not only did he first stabbed the guy, he beheaded him. He ate his eyes, part of his heart and when the police captured him he had the guy's tongue on his pocket along with an ear. Li also said he had heard voices, and that God told him to kill the guy cuz he was evil. Now, he is obviously guilty of murder. The ethical question comes when the court, decided that Li was schizophrenic and therefore should not be convicted and sent to prison. (There is no death penalty up here.) The court decided to send him to a mental institution to be evaluated yearly....and if he does gets better he might be let go.
