(PS3) Fan running loud.

Subject: (PS3) Fan running loud. Sun May 31, 2009 3:57 pm

All of the sudden the cooling fan on my PS3 is running very loud. It is not constant. After it has been on for 15-20 mins. then the fan gets loud. It will round loud for several minutes and then stop again. I've had my PS3 for 2 years now and it's never done this before. It now sounds like an XBox. Anyone else experience this?

Try cleaning it you cant let it gather dust.that was happening to fearless but I hope his explodes in his face. Do u have in an open area that thing has to breath.

I bought a can of compressed air and cleaned it as best as I could. We'll see if that helps.

Yeah Brother, I don't want to scare you or anything but it sounds just like mine before it died. I too had one of the first PS3's on the market and it did great for 26 months, but it increasingly got louder and louder (fan). I took it apart and deep cleaned it which only lengthened the life by a few months. Then one day when I was playing BF...it froze and never worked again. I got a new one and you wouldn't believe how much more quiet the new ones are. Hope yours does not break but I would not be suprised.
