keep getting this message

Subject: keep getting this message Mon Jun 29, 2009 1:39 am

I shut down my PS3 the correct way every single time, I don't mess with the settings or unplug it at all, I rarely even touch the back switch. But I keep getting this message lately when I turn it on: "An available HDMI device was detected. Do you want to output video and audio using HDMI?" Everything works fine, I guess, but it keeps popping up anyone else have this happen?

nope I sure dont, sometimes when I do quit a game for some odd reason it turns my PS3 off then turns it back off, even turns off my controller

it may be a problem with your tv.. what kind do you have? And do you have to download an update for it? I have a 50" Samsung, and i was having that problem with mine last year. i went to the samsumg website, and put in my model number, and it said that there was an update for it. i used a sub memory stick to store the data for the update on it, and then pluged it into my tv, and went to the update button. and it fixed the problem.

that happens to me occasionally. Usually when I dont turn it off correctly.

this will only work if your tv has the capability to do updates. forgot to mention that.

I can't update a thing on this POS 19" HD Magnavox. I dunno, the PS3 is still working just fine but I'm getting more error messages, and they seem pretty random.

talk about the xbox being a piece of shit, i mean i am on my 3rd ps3 so I am hoping that this one lasts and I know a few other that have went through a PS3 I dont know what the problem would be but as long as it is not screwing nothing up than I dont know what to tell you

My ps3 does that from time to time, and it definitely has to do with the way the power is cycled off and on with HDMI components (TV, PS3, Reciever)
